Welcome fellow WOW nuts!

I plan to use this blog to help you learn what i have, and that is how to have fun and make gold in game without spending too much RW (Real World) cash!

If you have the funds, then many guides out there are a valuable investment, and i recommend a few of them, however if you as i do have some basic common sense you can learn to develope a system that makes generating gold very simple and you can spend more time playing for fun, and to level.

Synergy among toons!

I now have 2 toons gathering mats while I level them, for now I have my primary gatherers as my 57 hunter, and my DK they gather material to distribute to alts who I have make items that I can sell at the AH, soon I will switch at least one profession on the dk to blacksmithing most likely, so that I can get into the upper range of items to make.

Right now I am limited with the few hours that i play to making 300-800 G per week, once I decide to level the BS of my DK, I should max that profession out within a few days, and be able to make extremely rare items, and up my in game income to a few thousand/week.

If you read this and want to learn more, let me know, I will be glad to chat and discuss some of what I have learned.

gold is getting faster!

so i had to take a break from my playing for a few days, but before i left, i got my inscriptionists skill up and also my engineer, and blacksmiths.

I made a few rare items, and placed them in the ah, and then logged off.

so what did i find a few days later when i logged in...

237G, man thats nice, and now i can blow it on gear for my recently respeced hunter!

its not hard guys, and if you ask me I will help you learn how, and wont charge for it either.

thats right free info and suggestion from me, and I may even be able to create a toon on your server to help you.

the most I will ask for is in game gold until I write my book/guide and actually publish it.

and I will help you make some first!

Simple Gold Gen, without being lvl 60+

This information will be a brief explanation of what I do with my toons working together and using the AH to my advantage to keep a steady flow of gold coming in so that I can get the stuff I want in game. (which costs alot when you play the number of toons that I do)

I suggest for the average player that you have a main that you focus on and an alt or two that you use to produce items to sell.

I began with a night elf hunter and still have him only gathering and leveling.
he is a miner and skinner, also cooking is high.

what I do is set a specific day or two each week to play him, just to gather and to level, and I play the alts alternating each day that i have time to play.

also even if I don't have time to play i log in to check mail at least once/day for each toon.

I only use 3 of them to post on the ah.

but I have all of the professions represented, and so I can use them together very well;
I can make a leather item for instance and send it to my blacksmith to make a rare item.
my cost... almost 0, I may have 15-50 silver in it but it sells on my server for 18-28G.

the reason my overhead is so low is that I gather the leather and ore myself, make it into what I want to sell myself, and if i don't have a part, i can log into my engineer and make it, LOL.

The reason that I chose to do it this way is that I want to enjoy playing, and not focus 100% on the gold generation, but I still need gold in game to advance toons, and keep up on gear so this is a happy medium for me.

I will however admit that i do often opt for the convenience of the AH and simply buy what can make an item more quickly, or to advance my alts enchanting for instance so that i can do more faster etc. but I still take advantage of my system in most cases.

I have all of my toons at max skill for all professions, and now when I play alts I don't have to worry about gathering, I simply play, quest and grind, and level to the next bracket; man is it fun!

If you are looking to take this and use the basic idea, then I suggest that you choose no more than 2 alts, and choose your favorite ( or the best selling) professions that you main gatherer can feed mats to. and gather away, don't forget to get bags and get big ones! Bag space is worth it, especially in the long run, now don't go buy a 20g bag for 200g, but keep an eye out for a deal and get at least 16 slot bags asap.

how to get twink gear...

One thing that has happened for me anyways with the guild that I run and the guilds that my other toons are apart of, is that I meet other players like me; who have alts, some with one or two, and some with several.

I find this very valuable to know, and im very excited about the note system blizzard added to the friends list, now I can keep track of who is who's alts etc.

What I like to do is take a gatherer toon, 45+ and run a few friends through deadmines and or shadowfang keep, and then we swap, and they ll do the same for me, It works out very well and we all have a great time.

or you can if you have the money just have 2 accounts and have one toon follow the other and run yourself through the instances, I know several people who have done so successfully, and I think that's cool I guess, but I prefer the interaction with other players overall.

Since I have little time to play as it is I try to make the most out of my time in game, and so if I cant run dungeon right now on the toon I want to get a rare dagger for etc, i just log in with other toon and level him to 60 etc.

Next post I will deal some with the AH and tell you how I make 200-500 gold /5-10 hours playing.

and I do this with my 55 hunter gathering, and my mid 20 alts producing, that does not include any higher level toon incomes, I like to keep that separate.

New toon gold tip

If you are new to WOW or is you are just making another character, this is for you.

get and complete all of the starting quests. ( unless you can mail items to your toon from higher lvl alt, if that is the case i suggest that you head toward a mailbox. then hearth back to starting area.)

then set up a macro( more on that next post) to automatically sell grey items at a vendor, and quest away, selling as you go. obviously not truly necessary if you have gold from your main toon.

typically i send my new alt 4 bags, and 5-10g to start, it lasts a long time, and typically generating their own gold before i ever get close to running out.

If you are a new player, this will start you on the road to making the most gold possible.

now get to lvl 5 and get some professions!

I will add the details on the grey item sales macro asap

triple xp!

Another benifit of the recruit a frind sprogram is the xp bonus.

when you are playing with your new recruit, you and he/she now get triple xp!

honor is bumped also but i belive it is only bu 10%, but more is certainley more!

I just tried it out with a new toon just to see, and leveled both of us to 8 in an hour!

anyways its pretty cool and makes for some good gaming, especially when you can help your new buddy gather gear and get twinke dout quick.

Recruit a friend...

Very cool set up, if your a wow nut like i am and i suspect you are if your spending your free time reading this; then you should know that bringing your friends to wow can be very cool for you.

I wont go into the details, blizzard has done agreat job of that, just log into your account management section of the blizzard site, and read all about it.

I bring it up because I just got my zephra mount, last nite, and it is quite fast, especially with the trinkets i have for ride speed.

I look foward now to my epic mounts!

great gaming everyone!

Random gold generation tip # 1

So here it goes, but remember to do some research on your server as the market is very different on some, especially if it is a newer one.

I have found on my server, that recipes and patterns etc typically sell at a premium, not all of them of course, but most.

What I do is really just keep my eyes open for new ones for all professions ( that don't bind, more on that later) and when i find them i buy them and post onto the AH and usually the result is great.

I especially look for rare ones with my main, as he is into areas that the majority of players cannot go, and I do use the auctioneer add on, which has been great, but lately has been glitchy and slowing me down during play, so just be sure you'll use it if you download it.

Interesting wonderful turn of events

So I am a christian, which by the way is a lifestyle and awesome!

And the church that i go to is wonderful and a great growing place very focused on reaching and helping the youth of our city, country and the world.

One of the things that our church does that make it so inviting and helps us to grow every week, is the small groups or "cell groups" that we have, we have over 200 cell groups every cycle ranging in topics from spaghetti nights, to off road, to competitive shooting, and now yes you guessed it a World of Warcraft cell!

I was very excited to find this out, and its great playing with other people who enjoy play like me
profanity free, fun, and progressive, granted the main server that they play on isn't my usual but its great to have an entire guild of great people to hang with!

That is not to say that the rest of you all are not great to play with, but there is certainly a different bond between those of us from the church and I am excited to really help them create some serious gold and develop a stable guild that is known and highly regarded in their realm!

Aggro. Management.

Certainly a lost art in the game.

I have found that most players simply dont understand the concept, and as a result groups of players die needlessly in dugeons all over the (virtual) world.

And let me add that I know that we are all new sometime, and also that stuff happens, I have been the guy more than once who's left his pet on the wrong setting, and started the downward spiral of death.

I simply want to start a dialog about the do's and dont's of team runs in dungeons.

so, if you are reading this today or 5 years from now, please let me know your thoughts, and ideas, If you have a great story about how dumb you were at one time, and want to share please do!
and please include your suggestions as well based on your class and talent build so that we can work together to make dungeon washes less common!

I have learned how to be effective but am very tired of taking my healer to an instance with a group and them running around like 1st day new players and me winding up dead because they dont know what they are doing while trying to save them all, sorry just venting...

later guys!

glyphs and enchantments

It took me a while to learn how valuable glyphs and enchantments can be to maximizing a toons capabilities, but since one of my favorite toons ( ironically the one i made as a joke to my wife)
is an enchanting inscriptionist priest i have found that they can be extremely valuable to add to what level of mobs a lower level character can take on.

last night I decided to level warlock who is a alchemist/ tailor, I had left her at 15 because I got more interested with some other toons; but decided last night to start the push.
so i took some time to prepare her for the grind...

1. New gear, from other toons, and AH, cost...2 Gold(ish)

2. Glyphs, from my inscriptionist.. ( essentially free since my herbalism rouge gathered the herbs) and a few enchants by way of scroll for armor, and weapon etc.

3. 2 rings and a necklace that my Jewelcrafter made.

4. and finally a few potions/elixirs that my lock makes herself.

so with maybe 20 minutes invested in all of that I was ready for westfall!

and now my voidwalker and I can roll pretty quickly through 4-5 lvl15-17 mobs !
( oh and my lock was only lvl 15!!!)
maybe you all have known this forever, but I'm excited!

Gold Generation

managed to make over 200 gold last night while crafting a bunch of items with several alts on my primary realm, and blew most of it immediatley!

I figure i can always make more if i need it, and i wanted to level the proffessions of several of my alts so i just binged.

Next step is to take my warrior who is pretty well twinked out and take him from 20 to 40 so i can get him wearing mail!

I figure itll only take me about a week to 2 weeks to do as long as i dont get to distracted, but I dont play all that much compared to some of you wowheads...

I probably play nearly everyday but sometimes its for less than an hour at a time, just enough to track and updated AH, and re-post some stuff, and to corrispond with some of my friends.

Finally able to level jewelcrafting!

I forced myself to take the time to level my driud to 20, yes she is a twink, but i just hadnt wanted to go back to some of those blah quests iv done 9+ other times, but I finally had it with being maxed out with her JC so i got it done, yay cat form!

I managed to blow like 60G on mats and got her from 150-nearly 200 in about 30 minutes so ill make that back in a day or so.

I have a pretty good handle on the system ive put together, and my alts all work together very well to maximizes proffession leveling, and gold generation, i can usually farm leather and ore with one toon, and send in to my leatherworker and jewelcrafter and make an in demand item of each, and mail to my enchanting priest to sell or disenchant, so i effectivley level proffessions of 3 toons and get paid in the end, its awsome!

I rally do look foward to having someone read all this ranting, but for now im content to be able to vent and express my joy at this crazy game!

Basic Gold System

I plan to release a guide soon in rough form at no cost, offering guidelines that i have developed and used to develop on a given server a stable system for gold generation that is adaptable in any situation.

eventually i will charge for is once it is up to my standards, however I will release some of the content at no cost soon.

The full version will not likely be done till 2010, and I do not intend to include the level of content in some of the awesome video guides out there now.

I believe that WOW is an awesome hobby and hobbies by definition tend to cost money, so if you have money in your budget for guides to help you in WOW please, buy them.

I simply believe that I have another way to be effective and would like to share that with anyone who wants to have it.

but please share with me your successes, and otherwise I am curious your experiences also

hobbies are expensive!

By definition, a hobby is a thing that you do with your time and money that does not pay you; you however often spend money on it!

And so warcraft is certainly that for 99.9% of us.

I plan to change that if i can, at least so that it pays for itself, and I am curious what ideas you have to that end?

If you find yourself reading this please let me know what you think!

Circuit City closing = cheaper WOW

60 day game cards at curcuit city now only 23.99!!!

Epic Screen Shots

Please send me some screen shots, I would love to use a variety of them to add to the feel of the site, it wont be long and ill have to host this and my full site elsewhere, so if you are capable of writing code, and good at it let me know i may need you help soon.

Sometime this week ill be add links to several sites and blogs you i hope you look forward to that as much as i do!

what do you think?

I know 0 readers yet, but this blog seems to help me organize my thoughts, which is a rare thing for me often with all that i divide my time on.

I think at some point it will be valuable to offer an ingame walkthru, and not as a program, but i think it could be viable to have a full account with 50 toons on 50 realms ( or maybe 4-10 accounts) and hire wow gamers to play 6-10 hrs /day and heve them litterally walk customers thru the game, and even instances etc, maybe even teach them in (virtual) person how to develope a gold generating system.

its primarily an idea now but i have 90% of the details worked out on the logistics so its not too far from a reality, If you have any info, comments, or advice please send it my way or if you would like to get paid to play WOW (world of warcraft) let me know and ill keep you in mind when I decide to get that up and running.

Deadmines, Westfall

Yes the deadmines are probably the first instance you ll do when you start playing warcraft, but in my case i did not do my first instance till i was around level 40, lol.

I tend to do allot on my own, and figure out the details as i go so I did not follow the traditional transition to grind and quest into instances etc.

I simply wanted to share that I have found DM to be a great tool for new toons to level rather fast, and to gather linen/wool cloth for first aid and tailoring.

I run a small guild on my main server, and what we have done is I will run a guild mate thru dm once or twice to help get gear/xp etc with a toon that can breeze thru. Then he/she will return the favor. obviously we do this with other instances as well but it all started with dm, and its nice to be able to help friends with something simple like that, it helps to show your guild mates that you are there for them, and willing to help.

Also when you have several toons on multiple servers it helps to build relationships with guild mates with your higher level toons so that you have the assistance later when you want to level a new one.

just some info about me, and some of what we do, remember feel free to e-mail anytime, and ask your questions, i look forward to helping as much as i can

Warcraft is for some a way of life

I know its a little over the top; but is certainly true, what are you going to argue with nearly 10 million people?
It is certainly a great escape, and for a few dollars each month ( or more than a few) I can live out my life (online) as a hero in the world of azeroth; and experience new adventures every day!

Well Hello reader, My name is Drew and I want to share with you some of what I have learned about playing and succeeding in the World of Warcraft.

I will be posting here some of my adventures, and interesting things that i find, but mostly ill be letting you know what i find to be the most helpful tips, hints etc that i use and some across.

At some point I will recommend some things, maybe a particular addon or two but for now, hello!
and feel free to e-mail me anytime with your questions, and issues, I will do my best to help in any way that I can!
